Right Start Math

Our child has excelled in math beyond her grade level following the approach developed by Dr. Joan A. Cotter's Right Start Math.

Incorporating an abacus created a visual aspect that gave our daughter an advantage in the early years. It has taught her to 'think' mathematically.

Teaching Right Start Math was simple. The math manipulatives are a great investment and are integrated through the lessons.

We had to switch to Teaching Textbooks because our daughter was entering 6th grade and unfortunately, Dr. Joan A. Cotter is currently writing middle school Right Start Mathematics, for independent homeschool or classroom work.

Teaching Textbooks has been a blessing. Our daughter is now in 7th grade and works on her math independently. The program is set up with a video presentation using an online whiteboard to explain the lesson, then the student has a workbook to do the math assignment.

Being able to step into Pre-Algebra was easy for her, having a strong foundation of math abilities as taught through Right Start. It has been an easy adjustment.

She loves doing math - which is music to my ears!

I recommend Right Start Math and Teaching Textbooks for home school math.
