The best educational part of our family vacation in Orlando, Florida, was our visit to the Kennedy Space Center. We took our five children and their Nana and had a great time.
We were fortunate to see the Space Shuttle Endeavor sitting on the launch pad prepared to launch if Atlantis had troubles on their Hubble repair mission. It was an awe-inspiring sight for sure. We went through the Saturn V rocket exhibit, the International Space Station exhibit, and even got to ride the Space Shuttle Experience. Kennedy Space Center has something for all ages.
When we came home, I wondered if the kids had enjoyed themselves and if they had really retained anything they saw. Two days later we had our answer. My five year old son Matthew was watching "Apollo 13" with me and looked up excitedly and said, "That's a Saturn Five Rocket Mom!" Needless to say this was a trip well worth taking for us and we will definitely go back some day.
