We homeschool our six-year-old daughter because she deserves the best education possible. No one else knows her, loves her, or cares about her more than we, her parents, do. Educating her at home means that she gets 100% of our attention and the most opportunity to grow and excel in every subject. All of her education is taught classically and applied in the real world, with her leading the way and with us guiding her in every step of the process.
We used to have our daughter enrolled in an expensive private school, but they switched their curriculum from a Montessori Method to a public school curriculum. They said they made the change because some of the students who leave their school enroll in public schools and they want to make that transition easy for the children. In the meantime, however, they are short-changing the students that are enrolled in their school. Those children are there to receive a Montessori Method of education and are not getting it. Very sad.
A public school cannot provide any of the love, dedication, and a personalized daily curriculum to any single child that parents can and, as a result, those students get a minimal education with no heart and soul behind it.
We will continue to homeschool as our daughter is blossoming more than ever. To anyone who is thinking about homeschooling, please consider what kind of education your children are getting now and what you can offer. After all, don't they deserve the best you can give?
