Homeschool Rewards Zone brings you the latest additions to one family's rewarding experiences of homeschooling simply.
Spring Sale!
1) Book Nook We're adding a new section this month. We have used so many good books, that we thought we'd highlight a favorite or two for you each month. If you have high school students, you will need a grammar and writer's guide for writing essays, poems, and so forth. A good friend suggested Rod and Staff's English Handbook. We have consulted it many times, from when to properly use a semicolon to knowing what to capitalize in a title. It's indexed so that you can easily find what you're looking for. We also have Writers Inc, which is good, too. But we feel more "at home" with the English Handbook.
2) Brain Teaser Can you reduce the following phrase to a four-letter word that begins and ends with the same letter: A conglomeration of heterogeneous incompatibles, which is edible. (Answer at bottom.) 3) Helpful Homeschool Hints Locate a wall in your home to pin up treasures. I call it my Pride Wall and I continue to add to it. I used to actually staple items, but then Mark located a 4x8 sheet of white board and hung it to the wall. Now we can tape and re-tape cards, photos, newspaper clippings, awards, plus (and this is their favorite) add personal messages with colorful dry erase markers. Visitors like it as well! 4) New Pages Added New WAHM Pages Creative Ways to Make Money - Are you open to new opportunities? Ways that not only make money but educate as well? We are learning how to bring in multiple streams of income. Wassup? - Don't forget to drop by to see what's new in our family! 5) Terrific Contributions From Visitors Like You! Every month we will share the best visitors' pages submitted the month before. We appreciate everyone's input, but there are some that really shine. My family votes on the best of the best. Here are this month's top picks (in no particular order):
Games Pros and Cons of Homschooling Math Field Trips Discipline
Homeschool Q & A Montessori Method - A fellow Wisconsinite asked about the Montessori Method. I have not used this method of teaching. Can anyone answer her questions?
