Homeschool Rewards Zone, Issue #001 --, Can It Be? July 03, 2009 |
Homeschool Rewards Zone brings you the latest additions to one family's rewarding experiences of homeschooling simply.
"Can it Be?" By golly it is! Your very first copy of Homeschool Rewards Zone! We must first apologize to all of you who have been waiting what seemed like forever...only because it was! It wasn't until just recently that we learned that so many of you were subscribing! I can only guess how long some of you have waited. But wait no more! From now on you will be receiving website updates and newsworthy information regarding homeschooling on a monthly basis. We promise. =) 1) Brain Teaser I thought it would be fun to start each newsletter with a riddle, math problem, etc. My high school student beat my college student with this one! How will you do? Quick now! Write, in numerals, eleven million, eleven thousand, eleven hundred, and eleven. (Answer at bottom.) 2) Quick Tip of the Month With summer here, it's time to pour over those homeschool catalogs and choose your curriculum and supplies. Don't wait until August. If you do, something is bound to be on backorder. Do yourself a favor and order what you need NOW. That way you can enjoy the rest of your summer knowing you're all set. You'll even have time to browse through a few books before school starts. 3) New Pages Added We've added a number of pages to our site that may be of interest to you, a friend or a loved one. Pros and Cons of Homeschooling - Homeschooling certainly has its advantages and disadvantages! See what they might be from other veteran homeschoolers.
Games - We added a couple of games to our List of Games page. They include spelling games and word games that we found fun and helpful. We didn't just list games, you'll find a couple of books listed also. Enjoy! Books - We've added a number of new book pages. The most recent additions included Dr. Seuss and two biography pages. It was fun reading Dr. Seuss' books again. What an imagination he had! And my all time favorite biography book is It's a Jungle Out There! Check it out! Transcript & Diploma - Do you have a high school student nearing graduation? If he or she is contemplating college, make sure you're keeping a record of his studied subjects necessary for the making of a transcript. You'll also learn if a diploma is really needed. Home Page Art Print - Last, but not least, check out the home page. We've added a cool Norman Rockwell look alike. Let me know if you like it...or not!
4) Terrific Contributions From Visitors Like You! Every month we will share the best visitors' pages submitted the month before. We appreciate everyone's input, but there are some that really shine. My family votes on the best of the best. Here are this month's top picks (in no particular order): Pros and Cons Field Trips Kennedy Space Center - Jenifer and her family enjoyed a vacation to Orlando with this being their favorite. Pueblo Community College - See Ralene's son, Joey, strapped to a backboard volunteering for her daughter's EMT class.
